The Canadian International School Kunshan (CISK) proudly stands as a beacon of educational excellence in China, committed to fostering a passion for learning and academic achievement among its students. Since 2018, CISK graduates have consistently achieved remarkable success, gaining admissions to some of the world's most prestigious universities, including Harvard, Duke, and Imperial College London. In 2020, our average International Baccalaureate (IB) exam score reached an outstanding 37 points, significantly higher than the global average of 31, highlighting the exceptional caliber of our students and the effectiveness of our educational approach.

Furthermore, during the application season, an impressive majority of CISK students received acceptance offers from the world's top universities. Over 90% of our students gained admissions to universities ranked within the global top 100, 80% to those within the top 50, and a notable 50% to universities within the top 30. These results are a testament to our unwavering commitment to academic excellence, rigorous curriculum, and dedication to preparing our students for success on the global stage.

CISK, embracing the International Baccalaureate (IB) philosophy of "Lifelong Education," strives to help students aged 2-19—from kindergarten through high school—realize their fullest potential. The globally esteemed IB program, meticulously designed by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO), spans primary (PYP), middle (MYP), and high school (DP) levels.

Within our IB world school setting, students are encouraged to cultivate critical thinking and interdisciplinary skills that foster personal growth and academic excellence. The programs are not just about imparting knowledge; they are about equipping students with the tools necessary to navigate the complexities of our globalized world and to emerge as leaders. By transcending traditional boundaries, the IB curriculum champions critical thinking spurs innovation, and fosters meaningful relationships.

Strategically located at the heart of the Yangtze River Delta region, Kunshan City boasts proximity to the vibrant urban centers of Shanghai and Suzhou. Leveraging this advantageous position, CISK has successfully expanded its five school bus lines to neighboring cities, facilitating seamless connectivity and access for our students.

CISK's dormitory offers more than just conventional student housing; it's a secure and supportive environment that mimics family-style living. Each apartment floor is carefully overseen by dedicated life teachers, fostering a harmonious atmosphere conducive to both living and learning.

The safety of our students is paramount, and thus, the apartments are equipped with intelligent access control systems. Beyond the basics, the first floor of the apartment complex boasts a thoughtfully designed common area, complete with designated spaces for reading and discussions, a fully functional coffee bar, and convenient on-site laundry services. This innovative design not only caters to the essential needs of our students but also contributes to a lively and engaging community spirit.

The shared hall setting serves as a vibrant hub for various social and academic activities. Whether it's a casual coffee break, an intense study session, or a meaningful discussion, this space encourages interactions and collaboration among students.

Within the dormitory, students have the opportunity to participate in a range of structured and informal activities. In the Early Years Programme, we utilize inquiry-based plans to delve into four out of six interdisciplinary themes. As a result, they seamlessly integrate these valuable lessons into their everyday lives.

CISK's IB Primary Years Programme stands out for its inquiry-based teaching methodology, prioritizing the enhancement of students' academic skills. Centered around the learner, this comprehensive program caters to a wide range of learning styles, encouraging students to take the initiative. 

It also guides students in developing robust study habits and effective learning techniques, empowering them to confidently tackle future challenges.

Our Secondary School adheres to the International Baccalaureate's Middle Years Programme (MYP), providing a robust learning framework that prioritizes intellectual stimulation and fosters the seamless integration of traditional subjects with practical, real-world applications. 

With a strong emphasis on skill development, the MYP places significant importance on teaching students "how to learn," systematically nurturing Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills that encompass communication, collaboration, organization, self-management, reflection, research, information literacy, media literacy, creative and critical thinking, as well as the transfer of learning. Additionally, it cultivates a deep understanding of diverse cultures and global engagement, imparting invaluable qualities essential for today's youth.

The International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme, tailored for students aged 16 to 19, is a rigorous two-year college preparatory course. 

Within this framework, students are immersed in the study of at least two languages, affording them the chance to attain a bilingual IB diploma. Recognized globally for its international curriculum, versatility, and well-rounded disciplinary approach, the IBDP is increasingly becoming the preferred choice among schools and parents alike.
