About Kunshan
Kunshan is located in the middle of China’s eastern coastline, adjacent to Shanghai. The city is in subtropical monsoon climate zone, surrounded by many rivers and lakes, with warm weather most of the year. Kunshan won the "United Nations Habitat Award" in 2010.
Kunshan is one of the richest county-level cities in China. Since 2005, it has ranked first in the "Top 100 County Economics in China" list. The Jiangsu-Zhejiang-Shanghai region where Kunshan is located is one of the most developed areas in China. Integrated transportation systems enable staff to not only arrive in Shanghai and Suzhou within 20 minutes by high-speed train, but also travel all over the country through major airports in Shanghai, Nanjing and Wuxi.
Kunshan has a long history and extensive cultural heritage, whose people are very welcoming while naturally proud of their history and cultural resources. Originating in Kunshan, Kunqu Opera was listed as a “Masterpiece of Human Oral and Intangible Heritage" by UNESCO.
