Last week, CISK PYP Grade 5 students staged a wonderful graduation exhibition.


上周,CISK PYP五年级的毕业生们给大家呈现了一场精彩的毕业展


From personal health to equal rights, from earth pollution to extraterrestrial technology. They gazed not only at the mountains and rivers they could see, but also at the stars in the vast universe.


从个人健康到平权议题,从地球污染到地外科技。他们的目光,既凝视着目之所及的山川河流,也遥望着浩瀚宇宙的漫天星辰。


Their thoughts and insights are far beyond their peers in this age group; the breadth and depth of their thoughts impressed parents and teachers.


他们的思想与见解,远超这个年龄段的同龄人;他们思考的广度和深度,也让参观的家长和老师们赞叹不已。


PYPX (PYP Exhibition) is the core part of PYP stage and also the transition to MYP stage. It represents the summary of PYP stage and gathers all the knowledge of PYP study. Students should comprehensively use their learning results in previous years to apply what they have learned, and really apply it to their own research.


PYPX(PYP学习成果展) 是PYP阶段的核心部分,它既代表着PYP阶段的总结,也是向MYP阶段的过渡。它汇聚了PYP阶段的所有知识,学生们要将他们前几年的学习成果真正应用到研究中。

From April of the epidemic to June, the exhibition lasted from online to offline for eight weeks. They have overcome numerous difficulties in order to explore in such a difficult and deep way.


从疫情肆虐的4月到烈日炎炎的6月,从线上到线下,本次成果展历时共8周。为了进行如此高难度兼具深度的探究,他们可谓克服了无数困难。

Starting from 0, the first step is to determine the central idea


Students need to start from the six interdisciplinary themes, then look around the world, and contact the real world around them, and find the topics they are interested in. 


Through brainstorming and screening, they finally selected the following topics:


从0开始,第一步要做的就是确定中心思想


学生们需要从PYP六大超学科主题出发,再放眼全球,并联系周边的真实世界,找寻自己感兴趣的话题。


通过头脑风暴,层层筛选,最终他们选定了以下几个主题:

The second is the inquiry, how to explore is the first question in front of them.


其次是探究,如何去探究是摆在他们面前的第一个问题。


At weekly group meetings, they communicate with each other about their team members and their mentors and discuss progress.


每周一次的小组会议上,学生们都会与自己的组员和导师交流彼此的想法,讨论进度。

The mentors are experienced and come from all walks of life, including CISK teachers, professors of Duke University, and even NASA experts. 


导师们经验丰富,来自社会各界, 其中不乏有CISK的老师、杜克大学教授、甚至NASA的专家。


Under the careful guidance of the mentors, they thought differently around their own themes and formulated three lines of inquiry, so as to guide their research direction and guide their subsequent research content.


在导师悉心的指导下,他们围绕着自己的主题发散思维,拟定了三条探究线索,在明确研究方向的同时,以此指引自己后续的研究内容。


For example, the first group set inquiry lines from three perspectives (gender, race, nationality):


例如第一组围绕着平等,分别从三个角度(性别,种族,国籍)设定了探究线索:


1. Women aren’t given the same opportunities as men, but they should be treated equally.


2. Different treatment of races can cause conflicts between people and the societies.


3. People become refugees for different reasons and are treated differently depending on their nationalities.

1. 女性并没有被给予和男性相同的机会,但是她们应该被平等对待。


2. 区别对待不同种族的人会导致人们和社会之间的冲突。


3.人们成为难民的原因各不相同,成为难民后的待遇也随着他们国籍不同而不同。

Then it's time to make a practical inquiry. The first is the collection of data and information, which is the core of all the research. They query the information, conduct questionnaires, and visit the experts to ensure the quantification and quality of the data, and the integrity and reliability of the research.


接着,该做出实际的探究行动了。首先是数据和信息收集,这是一切研究的核心。他们通过查询资料、做试验、问卷调查、访问专家来确保数据的量化与质化,研究的完整性与可靠性。

As the information database gradually improves, a new problem arises: how to visualize obscure theories and data?


随着信息库的逐渐完善,一个新的问题出现了,该如何将晦涩难懂的理论以及数据可视化呢?


Eventually, the students developed their unique imagination and creativity by personally designing the group names and logos, T-shirts, and stands.


最后,学生们发挥了自己独特的想象力和创造力,独立设计了小组名称和标志、T恤、传单以及展板

From making donation posters, drawing badges, calling for donations for refugees and endangered animals, to using 3D printing designs and making props from disposable plastic bottles, they did everything themselves to present the perfect graduation exhibition to the audience.


从制作捐款海报,绘制徽章,号召大家为难民,濒危动物捐款,到运用3D打印设计、用一次性塑料瓶制作道具等,他们事无巨细,亲力亲为,只为向观众呈现最完美的毕业展。

After eight weeks of thinking, exploration, recording, and creation, the last step is the display.


在长达8周的思考、探索、记录、创造后,最后一步,则是展出。


At the graduation exhibition, each group of students needs to give a simple presentation to attract audience to their booth. Under the eyes of other students, teachers and parents, they shine confidently.


在毕业展上,每组孩子们需要进行一个简单的演讲,以此吸引大家来到他们的展位前。在同学、老师和家长的目光下,他们胸有成竹,侃侃而谈,自信地散发着光芒。

When the students came off the stage, changed into their group costumes and walked to their stands, the place turned into a fun fair again, and they even set up a wealth of fun interactive games and activities for the audience.


当孩子们走下舞台,换上自己的小组服饰,走到自己的展位前,这里又变成了一场有趣的展览会,他们甚至还为观众们精心设置了丰富有趣的互动游戏和活动


有的举行了盲盒抽奖仪式,有的提供口罩DIY项目,有的拿出了遥控赛车……

Eventually, In everyone's applause and reluctance, the PYP Exhibition ended together with the graduation ceremony, and the children drew a perfect end to their PYP learning.


最终,在大家的掌声与不舍中,PYP成果展伴随着毕业典礼一起落幕了,孩子们为自己的PYP生涯画下了一个完美的句号

During these two months of exploration, they have broadened the boundaries of their knowledge, inspired their creative inspiration, improved their logical thinking ability, and laid a solid foundation for entering MYP. 


在这两个月的探究中,他们拓宽了知识边界激发了创造灵感,提升了逻辑思维能力,为进入MYP打下了坚实的基础。


In the past five years of PYP learning, they overcome the difficulties, tirelessly, strive for perfection, but also gained the most precious spiritual wealth.


而在这五年的PYP学习生涯中,他们迎难而上,孜孜不倦,精益求精,也收获了最宝贵的精神财富。
