Tips for the Flu Season

时间:05 Nov 2024

As the flu season approaches, it is crucial for us at CISK to take the necessary precautions to protect our students, faculty, and staff. The following tips are designed to help navigate this season with a reduced risk of influenza infection and its potential consequences.

1

Vaccination Against Influenza:

The most effective way to prevent influenza is through vaccination. It is highly recommended for everyone to receive the flu vaccine annually before the onset of the flu season.

2

Maintaining Good Hygiene Practices:

Frequent handwashing is essential, especially before meals, after using the toilet, and after coughing or sneezing. Use soap and running water to thoroughly clean your hands for at least 15 seconds. Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or handkerchief when coughing or sneezing to prevent the spread of droplets.

3

Enhancing Physical Fitness:

Boost your immune system by engaging in regular physical exercise and maintaining a balanced diet rich in vitamin C, such as citrus fruits, strawberries, and green leafy vegetables. Probiotic-rich foods like yogurt and pickled vegetables are also beneficial.

4

Keeping Indoor Air Ventilated:

Ensure classrooms, dormitories, and other school spaces are well-ventilated by opening windows daily to keep indoor air fresh and reduce the spread of viruses.

5

Avoiding Crowded Places:

During peak flu season, try to avoid crowded or enclosed public spaces with poor ventilation. If attendance at such places is necessary, wearing a mask is recommended.

6

Keeping Sick Students at Home:

Students should stay home when they are sick. It is the responsibility of parents to inform the school immediately if their child is diagnosed with a contagious disease. A doctor's clearance certifying full recovery is required before the student can return to school.

●

Important Note:
Students must wait 48 hours after their fever has subsided (without the use of fever medication) before returning to school. If the illness is confirmed as flu, they must wait until they have fully recovered, which means their temperature has returned to normal, and other flu-like symptoms have disappeared for 48 hours.
