As the new semester approaches, CISK (Canadian International School Kunshan) takes pride in introducing to you our School Leadership Team (SLT) for the academic year 2024-2025. This year's team brings together educational elites from around the globe, who not only possess extensive experience in international education but also have a profound understanding of integrating the IB philosophy with Chinese culture. Christopher Hoddinott

Secondary Principal & Acting Elementary Principal

Mr. Christopher Hoddinott, hailing from England and holding dual Master's degrees in Education and Research, boasts over a decade of international educational experience. Dedicated to academic excellence, he is a seasoned IB examiner and EE advisor. Chris has driven academic achievement through innovative initiatives and a steadfast commitment to student growth. As our Secondary & Acting Elementary Principal, his vision, creativity, and passion for education ensure an exceptional learning environment for all students. Trust Chris to be a solid foundation for your child's development.

 

 

Cliff Prisament

MYP Coordinator

With over 18 years of experience in education, including extensive practice in Chinese bilingual schools, Mr. Cliff Prisament holds an MBA in International Business from Mercy University and a BA in Chinese Studies from the University of Delaware. 

 

As the MYP Coordinator, he demonstrates proficiency in-depth knowledge of the IB curriculum. His expertise lies in strategic planning, policy implementation, and student behavior management. Fluent in Mandarin, Cliff maintains strong connections with university admissions officers and education experts in the US and UK, having been an invited speaker on college admissions in China. With his profound knowledge, exceptional communication skills, and extensive educational network, he provides invaluable support for students' holistic development.

 

 

Yumi Shiraishi

PYP Coordinator

Ms. Yumi Shiraishi was born in the United States and grew up in a multicultural environment. Over the past 10 years, she has been serving as a primary school teacher in an international setting, specializing in teaching students from multilingual backgrounds. Yumi takes joy in empathizing with both students and parents, creating a supportive learning environment for learners of diverse backgrounds. She sees herself as a parent, educator, and lifelong learner, firmly believing that education should be filled with love, patience, and understanding.

 

In her free time, Yumi is passionate about learning the latest educational concepts and enjoys reading, traveling, and cooking. As a mother of two school-aged children, she particularly loves children's literature.

 

 

Sarah Rochelle Salazar

Coordinator of Student Support Services

Equipped with a Doctorate and Master's in Special Education from Liberty University, Dr. Salazar excels in curriculum and instruction. Her extensive experience in special education and bilingual teaching guarantees personalized support for every student. 

 

As an Emerging Bilingual Lead Specialist at Texas Connections Academy, her dedication to personalized learning and bilingual instruction ensures your child's academic success.

 

 

Tavis Roberts

Coordinator of Athletics and Activities

Mr. Tavis Roberts is from Australia and holds a Bachelor of Human Movement Science, a Bachelor of Education, and a Master's Degree in Education Globalization and Research.

 

With nearly 20 years of teaching experience in Australia, England, Dubai, Thailand, and China, he is an experienced and knowledgeable Athletic Director and Teacher passionate about creating contextual, challenging, and innovative learning journeys that foster leadership, critical thinking, and communication skills respected by students within themselves and the community in which they live.

 

He has been residing in Suzhou since 2014 and enjoys cycling, networking over coffee, and spending time with his family.

 

 

 

Eoin Thomas Marsh

Deputy Elementary Principal

Mr. Eoin Marsh holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from University College Cork, Ireland, and a Master's degree in Education from the University of Nottingham. 

 

With over a decade of experience in the education sector, he has served as a teacher and lecturer in various international schools and universities in both China and Ireland. Known for his distinctive teaching style, Eoin excels at adapting his teaching methods to cater to the diverse abilities of his students, earning him their deep admiration. 

 

Moreover, he is passionate about philanthropy and serves as a fundraiser for the SSAPA (Suzhou Small Animal Protection Association), actively promoting the protection of nature and animals through organizing events and exhibitions.

 

 

Cimy Liu

Deputy Head of Early Years

Cimy holds a Master of Teaching in Early Childhood Education and is certified in AMI Montessori. With over 10 years of experience in the early childhood industry in Australia, she has taken on roles as both an Early Childhood Teacher and Educational Leader, possessing extensive knowledge and experience in teaching and leadership practices.

 

Cimy embarked on her educational journey in 2014 at Goodstart Early Learning. Later, she became an early childhood teacher at Kids Club Early Childhood Learning Centers. In 2022, Cimy assumed the role of an educational leader.

 

She adores the principles and concepts of the IB philosophy and pedagogy and focuses on individualized teaching and learning content. She has facilitated students' development by encouraging them to take their own initiatives and lead their own learning processes based on their personal interests, strengths, and needs. The teaching and learning programs, as well as the learning environment she designs and provides, enable children to cultivate their social, physical, and emotional development, promote their understanding of both the world they live in and themselves, and prepare them for future academic school learning.

 

Cimy is a lifelong learner passionate about sharing her knowledge with other active learners, both adult and children, within a collaborative culture that benefits all. Her goal is not only to foster successful learners but also to nurture happy and balanced individuals who enjoy all that life offers.
